Mr. Karras has written two books, one a romantic comedy set on a used car lot where he spent many years working for his father. The second is entitled 75 Dating Disasters and is a compilation of humorous dating stories from all over. While in Europe last summer, he wrote a short story entitled ‘Nincompoops In Italy’ which appears in the anthology entitled Glimpses for sale on Amazon.com.
The reason Nick started his own magazine Kaleidoscope was because of the overwhelming difficulty of finding an audience for himself and other new writers, some he meets regularly with in Saint Petersburg on a monthly basis at a writers group for aspiring authors. He recounts:
“I submitted many short stories to a number of the small neighborhood papers, with no success. So I started my own magazine, it has been very rewarding having my stories read by others as well as helping other new writers get some exposure; but it’s been tough absorbing the cost. I’m hoping to get help from advertisers or anyone who appreciates struggling artists.”
